Victoria has a 3 bedded High Care Unit, with
staffing for 2 ventilated and one other patient. It is a combined Medical and
Surgical unit (Paediatrics are referred to Red Cross ICU), with combined input
from Physicians, Anaesthetists and Surgical teams. There are twice weekly
academic ward rounds – Monday at 11h00 by an Intensivist from Groote Schuur
Hospital and Thursday at
08h00 by a private Physician / Intensivist.
