Problem | Illness is a highly stressfull experience for all human beings...how much more so for Children? This stress is compounded every time a Mother is forced to walk away from her child leaving him or her in their most vulnerable state. The lack of space to accomadate parents denies mothers the most natural maternal instinct ,to protect her child. |
Solution | We are aiming to build a stay-over mothers room. This ward renovation is a parent-initiated response to the detrimental effects of seperating mothers and children. It comes out of a very real need to accomadate parents in the ward to minimize separation anxiety,fear and trauma during hospitalization |
